Brett A. Basden, O.D.
Dr. Basden is a graduate of Auburn University where he earned a Bachelor of Science degree and the University of Alabama at Birmingham School of Optometry where he earned his Doctor of Optometry degree. He completed his Externship at the Tuscaloosa V.A. Hospital. Dr. Basden has been in private practice in Auburn since 1993. Dr. Basden's memberships include Alabama Optometric Association and American Optometric Association. Dr. Basden has served as a Senior Examiner for the National Board of Examiners for credentialing graduating Optometrists. Dr. Basden and his wife, Katie, reside in Auburn with their three children, Brittany Anne, Kallie, and Bradley.
Daniel J. Eagan, O.D.
Dr. Daniel Eagan graduated Summa Cum Laude with a Bachelor of Science degree from Auburn University in 2001 and a Doctor of Optometry degree in 2007 from the University of Alabama at Birmingham School of Optometry. While at UAB, Dr. Eagan rotated through various internship programs emphasizing primary care optometry, ocular disease, pediatric vision, and surgical co-management. In 2007 he completed his externship at the Birmingham V.A. Hospital. In addition to his duties at Basden Eye Care, Dr. Eagan provides much needed eye care to the elderly at several skilled nursing facilities in the area. He also serves as a consultant staff member to several hospitals in the area. He is currently a member of the Alabama Optometric Association and the American Optometric Association. Dr. Eagan resides in Auburn with his wife Abigail and their two sons Jack and Jude.
Helen Hadley, O.D.
Dr. Helen Hadley (Heidi) earned her Bachelor of Science from Auburn University in 1997 and Doctor of Optometry from Southern College of Optometry in 2002. Dr. Hadley has practiced Pediatric and Primary Care Optometry in Virginia Beach, Virginia, Columbus, Georgia, and Memphis, Tennessee. Dr. Hadley and her family - husband John and daughters Mary Elizabeth (M.E.), Catherine and Virginia - are excited to have settled here in Auburn. Dr. Hadley is a member of St. Michael’s Catholic Church.
Rob Pate, O.D.
Dr. Rob Pate served his patients for eight years at EyeCare Associates in Hoover before joining Basden Eye Care. He was named the Young Optometrist of the Year in 2013 by the Alabama Optometric Association and in 2014 he was awarded the same honor nationally by the American Optometric Association. In 2015 he was named the Young Optometrist of the South by the Southern Council of Optometrist. Dr. Pate sees patients of all ages and especially enjoys challenging contact lens cases and dry eye patients. He and his wife, Dana, and their five children are excited to return to Auburn where their marriage and family began. Dr. Pate is accepting new patients including eye emergencies.
